6-Week Holistic Childbirth Preparation Series

Childbirth can be one of the most empowering, life-changing experiences in a woman's life. This course helps parents prepare for childbirth, maintain comfort during labor and make informed decisions around the birth of their child, while respecting that each family's choices and desires are different. The series does have a home birth focus, however all of the information is relevant for anyone planning a natural birth, at home or in the hospital.

This 6-week comprehensive series is designed to prepare you for the last weeks of pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum recovery, as well as breastfeeding and newborn care. Sessions are 3 hours each, one day per week. Classes include beautiful birth videos, valuable handouts, hands-on activities and end with a relaxation/meditation exercise. A copy of Ina May's Guide to Natural Childbirth is included.

Topics covered include:

  • Self Care in Pregnancy
  • The anatomy and physiology of normal birth
  • The emotional aspects of the birth experience
